Agentic Development Unplugged
Agentic Development Unplugged is a half-day workshop package I built for developers, run in September 2026. An agent builds a Power BI semantic model and report live from a written contract, and proves its own work with DAX queries rather than assertions. The whole interface is copy and paste: seventeen self-contained prompts, run in order.
How it works
- The agent is opened on
workspace/only: the starting PBIP, seed data, themes, the contract andAGENTS.md. The finished target, the reset script and the graders sit outside it, so "stay inside this folder" is the folder itself, not a request. - The agent never runs a checker. It proves each section’s numbers with DAX against the live model, names the exact Python command, and waits for a person to run it.
- Source tables load from a Fabric lakehouse where every column is text by construction, so the model still does its own typing and all five planted defects survive.
- Seed data is deterministic, checked by 63 structural tests, and measured to produce the contract’s acceptance figures.
Why it matters
The guardrails are structural. A folder boundary and human-run checks hold up in a live room far better than instructions an agent may or may not follow.
